I struggled a little bit with this collection. I was really getting it throughout the first half, but the second half sort of tapered off for me and I was less connected towards the end of the collection. I love the creativity Jones shows here and how he plays with form and structure. And of course, the theme of us already being at the end of the world shines all the way through, and is a way to tie together themes that, at their surface, don't seem super cohesive. I appreciated this collection a lot but did not love it.

I really really liked the first half of this poetry collection and then somewhere in the middle, it lost its momentum. I still enjoyed the read and would be interested in what future work Saeed Jones has to present to the world. I would want it to try and not to touch on the experience of women as those poems felt the weakest and least grounded to me.
