When Lauren’s daughter, Zara, witnesses a horric crime their lives are thrown in to turmoil. The repercussions on them, along with Lauren’s husband and Zara’s stepfather Aiden, due to the choices Zara makes in the aftermath of the crime forces the family to be seperated with Lauren and Zara being placed into witness protection. Aiden opts to stay put so he can be there to support his daughter, Poppy and to try and find a way to make it safe for his wife and step daughter to return to their lives. But disappearing is the easy part, staying hidden is much harder and can be the difference between life and death.

I really enjoyed this one, it was we paced and there were some great twists throughout. Told in multiple POVs we get an insight into the different characters and get a chance to explore their motivations to help understand their mindset and also their actions. The suspense in this one really builds as the book goes on and by the end you’re on the edge of your seat waiting to see the outcome. Overall, a great psychological thriller and one fans of Gillian’s previous books will love.
