Thank you so much to Lauren Blakely and Good Girls PR for an eARC copy of The Overtime Kiss! Here is my honest review!

Ok, is it just me or do they books in the Love and Hockey series just keep getting better and BETTER? I for sure thought I had a solid favorite couple until Tyler and Sabrina came along!

Tyler is such a great dad and Sabrina is a strong fmc trying to make her own way through life.

If you like a runaway bride turned nanny, a single dad with two really cool kids, an amazing group of friends that they can each lean on, hockey, foster kittens and a spicy/swoony love then this one is for you!

This was such a sweet slow burn.

Sabrina & Tyler have such amazing chemistry, but the timing of things makes for many awkward moments and inside jokes.
I absolutely love that Tyler is such an incredible dad. He is so sweet & caring, absolutely adores his kids and is incredibly involved.
Sabrina is such a sweetheart, she is smart, kind & talented. She has an absolutely awful family, yet she doesn’t let that control her. She lets that fuel her to be even more amazing.
I absolutely adore Luna & Parker, they are such amazing kiddos.
I love the banter, and fun as well as the yearning & chemistry.
This was full of angst, and laughs & was such a fun swoony romance.

This book got me hooked from the first chapter! Sabrina is a runaway bride that bumps into one of her students' dad at a bar. Tyler is a single dad that needs help with his kids. She ends up being their nanny and their attraction grows.

I love the banter between Sabrina and Tyler. Tyler was so attentive to Sabrina and such a loving dad. Tyler was a total cinnamon roll and I fell for him. The tension and the spice was just perfection. I loved all the secondary characters, especially the kids. They really added so much depth to the story.

Teddy Hamilton and Brooke Bloomingdale's duet narration was so good!!

Thank you @hambright_pr @laurenblakelybooks for a copy of this.

4.38 stars ✨

Another single dad romance to convince me that I may actually really enjoy this trope.

Both of the main characters absolutely stole my heart. Sabrina has sparkly, magic energy. She’s determined, upbeat, patient, and resilient. She brightens Tyler’s world and brings him joy. Meanwhile, Tyler makes her feel confident and safe. He’s a listener, a caretaker, attentive, and incredibly supportive. I love how much they admire each other. Tyler is constantly in awe of Sabrina’s strength, intelligence, and artistry. He’s so proud of her and believes in her wholeheartedly. Sabrina praises his parenting as he sets a good example for his kids, loving and supporting them unconditionally. I loved both of their character arcs and watching them fall so hard for each other.

I appreciated their backstory and how they fall for each other before Sabrina even begins developing a relationship with the kids. Tyler was already crushing on her before he saw her interact with them, which I liked—it’s clear he doesn’t love her BECAUSE she’s good with the kids. Instead, watching her form a bond with them only amplifies his pre-existing feelings. Likewise, Sabrina doesn’t just love the kids BECAUSE they’re Tyler’s; her relationship with them is something entirely separate. She gets to know the kids on her own and naturally grows to care about them a lot.

Speaking of the kids, they were great and read like actual 8- and 10-year olds. Making their characters a little older seemed to help. Oftentimes, the kids in single-parent romances are 5 or 6 years old, and they’re not believable because their dialogue sounds too much like an adult’s. Sure, kids can be smart, but in real life they still have that childlike wonder—something not all authors fully capture. Here, we actually get to see Luna and Parker’s interests and personalities alongside the vulnerability of having a new person walk into their daily lives. Their storylines felt realistic.

In terms of the writing, I really enjoyed it. There was some strong vocab words, fun metaphors, and naturally bouncy dialogue. This is random, but coming from a Mexican family, I’m confused by their taco night. How are they creating the Big Dipper, a cat with a lettuce tail, and a snowman out of beans?? It sounds more like they were laying the ingredients flat and making burritos instead—that’s the only thing I can picture. Even then, the ingredients would still get all mushed up together in the end, so I don’t know!!

I loved all the sports elements from both POVs. The detailed descriptions of the sports themselves, along with adjacent parts like work trips, workouts, lessons, and the publicity aspect, all made this feel like an actual sports romance and immersed me into the world. Random side note: Who’s actually captain?? The ending of the last book contradicts what’s said here, so that seems like a plot hole.

There were a lot of really hot moments—I personally loooooove a good jealousy scene and a caught-in-the-act scene 🤭🤭 However, the spice was sort of mid. I love that he prioritizes her pleasure, but the list that they made was kind of simple and we didn’t even get all five scenes!! I feel robbed.

The ending was sort of annoying. They were doing so well and then started miscommunicating out of nowhere! They were going the whole book actually having thoughtful discussions, and then suddenly start making assumptions for no reason. It was very disappointing to see them act so immaturely.

Overall, this was a heartwarming book with lovable, well-developed characters. Sabrina and Tyler’s relationship was full of mutual respect and admiration, and the children added another layer of charm to their story. The dialogue felt natural, their respective sports played meaningful roles, and the kids were realistic—I had so much fun reading this. It didn’t steal my heart like the last two books did—plus the spice was sort of mid and the ending was lowkey frustrating—however, it still left quite an impression, and I’m so excited for the rest of the series!

Audiobook side note: Brooke Bloomingdale was amazing as Sabrina! She captured her lively tone and adorably nervous energy perfectly. Teddy Hamilton is Teddy Hamilton—the man’s narrations have never let me down, and this was no exception. You can really hear how much he loves what he does. I also enjoyed both of their narrations for the kids—they did a great job matching the characters’ ages, making them sound young but not babyish.

Thank you very much to Lauren Blakey and GoodGirlsPR for the ALC and ARC of this book. This is my honest review. All opinions are my own.

This story is SO GOOD!!!

Who doesn't enjoy a single dad, work place , nanny hockey romance.  The 5th book in the Love and Hockey series is OUTSTANDING.
Everything about Tyler and Sabrina's story is fun, enticing, heartwarming and entertaining.
Tyler is a professional hockey player who is doing his best at balancing his career while raising his children.
Sabrina is a retired figure skater and a runaway bride who's looking to make changes in her life.
One drunken encounter and Sabrina confesses all the things she hasn't experienced and Tyler would really like to help her with those experiences but he's a noble and naturally protective man so he doesn't give into his lustful desires ...but then fate intervened!
Tyler's mother hires Sabrina to be his children's nanny and their story takes on another level of INTERESTING.  Not only is Sabrina his daughter's skating coach, he has been harbouring a crush on Sabrina for a year and now she's single and living in with him...in his guest house. This is the perfect recipe for sexual tension, sexy flirtation and just pure amusement. Their attraction is undeniable and heated glances just fuel their desires so they make a no strings seduction plan... now it all sweet temptation and close proximity situation, what could go wrong?
The lessons are HOT and the chemistry is SIZZLING.

Tyler is the best kind of book boyfriend, handsome, charming, a proud loving father and naughty in the bedroom.
As for Sabrina, I like her character, she's endearing, strong and resilient. Her childhood wasn't easy, especially since she was an only child and her parents had high expectations of her.

Getting lost in Tyler and Sabrina's story was more than pleasurable, it is exciting, emotional and just pure joy. They will captivate you with their personalities, allure you with their sexy times and capture your heart with their family love and connection to each other.
This is an all around FEEL good, SPICY and BEAUTIFUL romance, and IMPRESSIVE story.

Lauren Blakely never misses with her audiobooks. While the overall arching story wasn't my favorite in this whole series, I really enjoyed it bc of the narrators. I'm an absolute fan of Teddy Hamilton & I think this was my first time listening to Brooke Bloomingdale. The kid voices were adorable too!
Tyler is definitely such a sweet MMC. His kids are always his #1 focus, as is Sabrina. I did enjoy the mutual yearning/pining throughout the book. And the private lessons?! Sooo hot.

Thank you Lauren Blakely for the ALC + ARC!

I adore the ensemble cast of characters in this series, y’all.

Fresh off his brother finding love in book 4, book 5 finds single dad and pro hockey player Tyler Falcon falling for his kids’ nanny / daughter’s ice skating coach.

I especially liked that Tyler and Sabrina have a connection before she becomes the nanny—please note that his mother hires her—and how they try to carefully navigate boundaries and the kids’ feelings as they fall for each other.

This book scores bonus points for having believable kids and adorable foster kittens included in the story.

And of course the heat between Tyler and Sabrina is 🔥🔥🔥.

Beware the interactions with Sabrina’s cheating ex and her self-absorbed parents. Those were my least favorite parts.

The duet audiobook narration from Teddy Hamilton and Brooke Bloomingdale is excellent. I even enjoyed their voices for the kids.

I had advance copies of the ebook and audiobook from the author. All review opinions are my own.
