This one made me sad. Poor Dan deserved better than a lonely single life. And you would have thought that Bess and him would have been good together. But, oh well. This one was slower to read than Little Men because I really enjoyed reading about how Jo was to her boys. Jo ended up being a wonderful mother, but I kinda thought Meg and Amy were overbearing mothers. To each their own.

This was actually my favorite that I read it this unofficial trilogy! I loved following the characters we met in Little Men and getting to see where they ended up. I thought the dash of adventure and the focus on sweet romance was so fun. I especially loved Dan's storyline, it was so touching. Like the first two books, it's a charming read.

I almost could have rated this four stars...almost. It was right on the line, but I bumped it down to three stars because it was kind of boring. I really only read it because I love the characters, and of course want to read a bit more about them. Actually, the whole thing read more like a really long epilogue. So, that's that. My favorite book in the series was undoubtedly Little Women!
