girl. GIRL. oh my goddddd. 5 stars.
most of my brainrot comes from this book and this movie alone. it's so gay, and i'm sorry if you can't handle the fact that chuck palahniuk, a gay man, wrote a deconstruction/criticism of toxic masculinity in gen-x white middle-class men who don't have a purpose in life, which is also a story of a man who goes to extremes in order to gain the validation of a woman he's attracted to, which also happens to be just fantastically queer-coded to the point where it made me like brad pitt (see: narrator losing his shit over tyler fancying angelface). it's great.
and look, i love marla singer but she deserved better. the ending of this book made me insane. i'm definitely gonna find the sequel.
and yes, i read this because of ryan ross.

Reading Fight Club as someone who has somehow avoided spoilers for the past 25 years is like hitting the best bakery in town at 9:45 and finding one maple donut left from the morning rush
