So Good. So Satisfying. Totally character-driven. Slow burn, second chances, imperfect and complex families, story within a story.
Excellent slow burn between two former crushes. Very little beach, a lot of Michigan woods, liberal small town vibes, and close houses. January and Gus write during the day, go on literary research outings on Friday, and airy romance dates Saturday. This is all the right notes. I wanna soak it in and hold it tight.

I love this story with my whole heart!!!
I’m so in love with January and Gus. Their banter and friendship, the line dancing, the way they hold each other through grief. I also love the reminder that no one is perfect, not even our parents and that everyone handles grief in their own way. Still my favorite from EH!

Hate her dad so much. Kind of cringey millennial tropes and dialogue. Not enough of the setting. Grow up January!

I felt soo seen by both Gus and January. To be loved, is to be seen and I feel as if I have been cut open for all my insides to be seen. The only thing I dislike about the book is that it ended in marriage. I feel as if Augustus and January's story was larger and bigger than a proposal being needed 9 months later.
