How does she do it!? Fricken Emily Henry done it again! How Emily is able to balance the hard ship of life and also falling is love is so fricken good! 3rd book I've read and gosh, how do you not fall in love with January and Gus. The banter was a 10 and college rival to friend to lovers was just chef kiss. I also loved getting to learn about writer process
Moderate: Death of parent

3.5-4 stars! Great read and very satisfying ending that wraps everything up perfectly. Just a little slower at times than I would’ve liked.

Just did a re-read of this masterpiece of a novel a little over a year after I read it for the first time and I think I’m going to have to make it a yearly occurrence! How Emily Henry created this phenomenal piece of work is beyond me! Will probably never get tired of reading this book<3

I was going to write a review of Beach Read by Emily Henry, but honestly, is it even necessary? It's Emily Henry!!!!! I read this book about three years ago and recently realized I barely remembered it, despite loving it at the time. Seriously thought I had Alzheimer's for a second there.
Emily Henry is hands down one of my favorite romance authors. There's no doubt about it. She's super cool, and her writing is absolutely beautiful. The romance and friendship between January and Gus were sweet, refreshing, and smart, without being overly dramatic or dark. I enjoyed the dates they went on and loved their banter and chemistry. They didn't have a true enemies vibe, just the usual silly miscommunications.
Emily Henry's books are always a delight, and Beach Read is no exception!
