piranesi is a feat of storytelling. the way susanna clarke slowly, masterfully, and oh-so-sweetly drip feeds information and lore to her audience is incredible. not to mention the way i fell absolutely head over heels in love with piranesi as a character—i have not followed a more determined, good-hearted, and full character like him in a while. this has the perfect balance of melancholy and hope and resilience for me and i will definitely be reading it again!
