me gusta mucho todo el debate acerca de maternidades alternativas, y me gusta que se mantenga en su decisión de tenerlo sola. al final creo que si decido ser madre esa será mi primera opción también (aunque creo que adoptaría, me da pánico parir y además que mis genes no son tan importantes, no soy sydney sweeney anunciando pantalones fascistas)

I love meiko's writing style; however, I did get incredibly bored of the novel at one point and had to stop reading it for a few days. Very much a book where not much happens, but it's a collection of women's experiences about the female experience, having children, or the discussion of having children.
I appreciated the parts written about the 'trauma' of being born. Only people with certain life experiences will relate I think - but Yuriko was very relatable in a lot of ways. I thought I might not enjoy a book that was from the perspective of more mature women than myself, but it didn't seem to matter - I still found it thought-inspiring and touching.
"People are willing to accept the pain and suffering of others, limitless amounts of it, as long as it helps them to keep on believing in whatever it is that they want to believe." Ouch but yes, I feel that so deeply.

I had high hopes for this book but for some reason I feel unsatisfied. I loved the way the book started and maybe I thought it would go in a different direction. I disliked the way the book ended. Idk.
