no better ode to womanhood than this. i am truly at loss on how to truly articulate my thoughts and feelings of this book. amazing AMAZING discussions into women’s struggles with their own body both personally and in the society. i’m sure that there are plenty of reviews that you can peruse here on this app that will ultimately convince you to pick this one up as i did so i will spare mine. mieko kawakami never misses and the way that she discusses certain topics from what i’ve read by far is genius and in-depth, each and every one of her book definitely makes a good book club discussions without a doubt and i would love to join into one someday
Wonderful book. Couldn't put it down at the end. Was longer than it needed to be, though.

i loved the first part, breasts, so much that if it was a book on its own i think it would be one of my fav books because i was delighted how the simplicity touched me in so many ways.
i liked the second part but it was just so freaking long.

this book scratched every little part of my brain. i love it so much.
Maybe a bit too long but as good as everything Mieko writes. Funny that a lot of complaints about the book are related to how pointless the second part feels but that's exactly what I loved. Books about nothing? I want them all.
Dnf…just wasn’t for me. I feel like this is a book I should come back to when I’m older.
