Library book!
Nothing happened and not even in the way that I like. A waste of time except it was very quick to read, which was nice because I've been slaving away over an Anne Enright book for two weeks and this was like a fun break for me.

This was very...no plot just vibes. And the vibes were that everyone in this book needs therapy. I understand that Butler wanted us to feel like these two women had more in common than meets the eye but it just did not come across that way at all. Megan is just unnecessarily mean to everyone and often thinks she's better than the other women that are presented in this novel. She is extremely pretentious and is constantly putting her boyfriend down. She seems self aware in this but doesn't do anything to try and help it even though she has said multiple times that she needs to start being nicer and doesn't know why she says mean things. Jillian is just a straight up liar and drug addict. She lies to fit the narrative of whatever she has cooked up in her head. The only time the two really interact is when they are at work together and even then it's just Jillian talking and Megan ignoring her, rolling her eyes, or indirectly saying she doesn't care what Jillian is saying to her. And then it cuts to random characters that we've only met maybe once having an inner monologue about life and it feels very random and all over the place. To put it simply, I was just not a fan of this book. I would only recommend if you want to walk away hating the main characters.
