The third book in the series concludes the story of what happened to Colter's father. I really enjoyed this fast-paced thriller. The premise is really fascinating. I enjoyed the characters as well as the plot. I thought the conclusion was well done. I am eager for more of Colter Shaw.

I realize this isn't the last book in this series, but I think this would be a really great end to it; it ends cleanly and, I think, perfectly.
I appreciated the appearance of Colter Shaw's long-lost brother Russell as well as the reappearance of Victoria. I thought it was entertaining enough. My biggest issue with this one is that it felt like there was just a little too much going on. I won't spoil anything, but there is one main plot (based on the mystery surrounding Shaw's father) and then a handful of sub-plots. I would have enjoyed the book more without the sub-plots, and none of the plot twists would have suffered.

„Ostatni dowód” to już 3 tom serii z Colterem Shaw - niezniszczalnym łowcom nagród, surwiwalowcem, który trudni się poszukiwaniem osób zaginionych i zbiegów. Tym razem Colter oddaje się przede wszystkim sprawie, która dotyczy jego życia prywatnego - zamiast gonić za kolejną nagrodą postanawia odnaleźć ludzi odpowiedzialnych za śmierć swojego ojca i rozwikłać pozostawioną mu „w spadku” zagadkę… W związku z tym musi się zmierzyć z ogromną korporacją, która ma poza gigantyczną sumą ma na swoim koncie także tysiące zgonów.
Colter wyjątkowo nie pracuje sam - w jego życiu pojawia się ktoś z przeszłości, kto przybywa do San Francisco, aby go wspomóc. Ten kryminał jest wypełniony masą akcji - znajdziecie tu pościgi, gangi, handel narkotykami, zabójstwa na zlecenie i wiele więcej. Krótko mówiąc, nie ma tu miejsca na nudę, a autor nie raz was zaskoczy! I chociaż wiele się dzieje, akcja wcale nie pędzi, nie gubimy się w niej - Jeffery Deaver prezentuje całą historię w idealnym tempie, a całość czyta się niezwykle szybko!
Największym plusem tego tomu jest moim zdaniem właśnie wątek walki z ogromną korporacją. Książka pokazuje przerażające konsekwencje, do jakich prowadzić może pogoń za władzą i pieniędzmi… Kiedy dochodzimy do momentu, w którym nareszcie poznajemy treść dokumentu, którego poszukiwał ojciec Coltera, zatyka nas. Czy taka rzeczywistość jest możliwa? Czy właśnie do tego mogą doprowadzić firmy, które czują się wyjęte spod prawa? Chętnie odkryłabym przed wami wszystkie karty, wyłożyła kawę na ławę i powiedziała CO znajduje się w tym dokumencie, ale nie mogę wam psuć zabawy! Musicie dokonać tego odkrycia na własną rękę - w towarzystwie Coltera oczywiście.
Jeśli lubicie powieści sensacyjne, nieprzewidywalne zwroty akcji, tajemnicze zagadki i trzymające w napięciu pościgi - ta powieść jest dla was! To wciągająca przygoda, która przeniesie was do zupełnie innej rzeczywistości i pozwoli zapomnieć o całym świecie. Każdy tom to oddzielna sprawa, ale jak zwykle polecam zapoznać się z poprzednimi, żeby jeszcze lepiej poznać prywatne życie Coltera, a także kodeks, którym kieruje się nasz bohater. I’ve loved the Colter Shaw series up until now, even reading every Novella just to get my fix of a great lead character in a great new twist on what is a ultimately a very saturated genre. Unfortunately I just failed to connect with this book.
I’m really not entirely sure why that is. I continue to love Colter Shaw’s character arc, with the introduction of his brother and the continuation of his relationship with Victoria. But I think I was hoping for something a little fresh closer to the start (the new case was only introduced about a quarter of the way through). I appreciate that the backstory took center stage, and rightly so, but I think it could have been a little more balanced. Apart from that Colter seemed to fluctuate between extremes a little too much. From getting the wool pulled over his eyes and getting saved from certain death numerous times (the book 2 character seemed way unnecessary), to completely outsmarting and outwitting his oppositions on numerous other occasions.
Anyway, I am sure I will be back.

I loved the previous two installments, but this one took it to a whole new level. At its heart, The Final Twist is about family. [And I'd just like to point out that I was right, re my earlier prediction about who would be in this book, even if the reality turned out to be even better than I'd expected!] Colter tiptoes the line between finishing his father's mission and seeking revenge, while a series of mysteries lead to an ever growing stack of questions.
