I didn't want to get my hopes up about this Percy Jackson sequel series, but I loved it! It's got all the humor and action of Percy Jackson, and I think Riordan does a good job of letting us know what the original characters are up to as well as introducing us to some very likeable new characters. The main premise is clever and has me hooked, ready for the second book ("The Son of Neptune," which comes out this fall).

A little embarrassed about these ones because im an adult and these are super kiddy especially in audiobook form.

10/10. A lot of people crap on this book but honestly I really like it. I love Piper and Leo and I find Jason to be an interesting character (if a little underdeveloped so far). I could do without the weird almost forced romance between Jason and Piper but it's not terrible. Leo may be my favorite character from both series and I just want to give him a hug. I also love the multiple POVs because they give a lot of further insight into the characters.
Graphic: Fire/Fire injury, Violence, Injury/Injury detail, Grief, and Dementia
Moderate: Death of parent, Abandonment, and Death
Minor: Racism and Kidnapping
