Read 7/28/18 audiobook
I was captivated. The plot was thin, a bit far-fetched IMO, but I was compelled to follow the story. I just had to find out what happened to James. Not sure if this was supposed to be magical realism or just quirky, but the cliffhanger has me wanting to continue.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I am really trying to like it, after all the story-line was good and the characters are enjoyable. Well, if you ignore the fact that Aimee can be very frustrating at times. Everything We Keep has a great mix of romance, heartbreak, loss, and mystery, along with a little bit of crime and family drama. All of this makes me really want to give the book a great review, but I was left with so many unanswered questions at the end. I mean, I don't mind a cliff-hanger, but I do want to at least have a little bit of a clean and satisfying ending.

I like how Karry Lonsdale included the "5 years later" epilogue, but at the same time, this frustrated me even more. Now I want to know what happens after the whole "5 years later" revelation. I did find out that there is going to be a sequel, which makes me feel a little better. I just hope that all of my questions are answered in the next book, because I do plan on reading it. Overall, this is a good book and I recommend it as long as you don't mind a book that leaves you with a million questions at the end!

Well that was unexpected!

Part love story, part mystery, I found myself completely engaged in this story from the beginning! The first line was my favorite...

"On our wedding day, my fiancé, James, arrived at the church in a casket."

I felt so much emotion for the pain that she had to be going through and I knew nothing about her.

The writing was very smooth and I really enjoyed reading it. Unfortunately I can't say much about the book without spoiling it, so just go read it yourself.

I'll be honest and admit that I didn't expect this book to be exceptional. It came to me for free as a Kindle promo, and while it's certainly the type of literary fiction I devour on a regular basis, it also touted a much-told storyline: a fiance dies and, to the world's shock and awe, he turns out not to be the man his beloved thought he was. Is such a premise often entertaining? Sure it is. But is it groundbreaking? Rarely.

I still wouldn't call this novel groundbreaking, but I'm happy to say it exceeded my expectations. The characters are fairly well developed, a couple of small twists keep you engaged with reading and playing sleuth, and the writing style is refreshingly unique. There are some points in which the main character seems to stumble inexplicably, and one or two of the side characters feel a bit one-dimensional -- but overall, it's well done. A fun, fast-paced read to help pass the time.

This book had me hooked from thevery first line. What? The guys comes to his wedding in a casket? I just had to keep reading to find out more. And then, as I kept reading, I became emotionally involved in these character's lives. This was the perfect book to binge read over the weekend.

Aimee tries to get on with her life, tries to carry on after the devastating news of her fiancé's death. Somethings just don't feel right to her and she has a hard time letting go and moving on. And then the secrets start surfacing, lots of secrets.

I loved Everything We Keep and I'm jumping right into the sequel, Everything We Left Behind. Kerry Lonsdale is going on my list of must-read authors after this series—I love them!

Took a while to get into

The book did take a bit to get into. I thought it would have a predictable ending based on the other events in it but it just kind of ended. The epilogue was a nice touch.

This felt like a book of pieces, not connected properly.
