A good group of short stories which lead very well into the Force Awakens.

Emily (age 9) hasn't been wanting to finish this book, so I took it upon myself to finish it this morning. I really enjoyed it!! Finn and Ray's parts were FABULOUS! Poe's was pretty good, but really hard to read. It's hard to visualize the ships fighting in space for like almost half the book (Poe's part seemed longer than the rest). The actual story was good, but just hard to follow, so Emily lost interest. I love how this set up for Last Jedi. Really well done! Probably more for middle grades than elementary.
adventurous emotional tense medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

This was just enough to get me anxious for TFA all over again. Rey's story got a little pseudo-tech heavy, and the self-sacrifice was irritating, but still entertaining. Finn remains a precious angel and I'm very excited I have one of the graphic novels about Poe's parents at home because I need more Poe.

An entertaining read that gives some deeper insight into the new characters :)

Before the Force Awakens

I like the three stories. They do give you more background on the three characters: Fynn, Reynolds, and Poe. The last story leads you right into the beginning of The Force Awakens. Highly recommend it.

I think this is a great book for fans of the new Star Wars trilogy that want to know more about the main trio. It really gives more depth to the characters and their lives before The Force Awakens. I though Finn's was the most interesting because you not only get to know more about him but get a glimpse into the First Order. Personally I would rank them in the order they come: 1st Finn, 2nd Rey, 3rd Poe Dameron. The pictures are great but the writing is kinda mediocre. Still a good read.

great set up for the movie

Some of the details didn’t quite match up with previous books of the films, but this is a book for children.
