I lost my focus and motivation to read as soon as Mark started repeating himself. So somewhere about page 50 I think.

DNF: I dunno guys. I couldn't get through the first third & switched to re-reading the [b:The Trials of Morrigan Crow|34219873|The Trials of Morrigan Crow (Nevermoor, #1)|Jessica Townsend|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1573171204l/34219873._SX50_.jpg|55271407] series again.

I like the title and the color of the book. Really attention grabbing. One reason I don't like "self-help/self-love" books is that there are soley based on someone's opinoin of their own life. With that being said, I read this book because of a challenge. I agree with some points, for example - everyone doesn't deserve a participation trophy. This book was a skipkim read for me. I define that as some parts I skipped and some parts I skimmed LOL.

got it... just don't give a fuck

Okay fr this was a decent self help book. I do think people who do have anxiety or commitment issues would benefit from it, as someone who doesn't have either of those, this was in enlighting in some way. Whole theme was this book is to not care what others think, what you think and what possibly will happen. As the author tell us his own stories, we humans are afraid to fail which is human nature. By default, we are already at an disadvantage by human nature, we feel emotions and act irrationally when in panic. Its the body's way of letting out stress or overwhelming feelings. The main thing I took from this book is don't be afraid to lose.

This being my first selfhelp book literally ever, I did enjoy it. I really am diversing the books I'm reading in 2025

What this book is trying to say : Life is short , don't waste it fake-caring for people , situations , jobs , places . Don't fake , just care about what's really important to you.

Of course there are many other concepts the book presented very well , like how important it is to take a responsibility for our actions , How you can succeed if you don't try hard and just be yourself , and how scary the idea of death can be because it throws our lives work away , it makes us feel that life is meaningless . i think this part was my favorite , because it said what i always think about out loud , and that's how good books should be , it should tell you what you already know .

So overall , this book was a fast and fun read .

Actual rating : 3.5

I had really high hopes for this book, but it unfortunately fell short for me. It started off fantastic, but halfway through I felt like I was reading the previous chapters over again. Then, the last chapter seemed to conflicted with the first few chapters, which left me confused at the end. A positive note was that it was a short/easy read that did make me ponder, and want to work on things in my life.
