I have mixed feelings about this book. I was first recommended it when I was going through a tough time and it really helped turn things around for me.
Out of curiosity I read it again later, with my life more sorted out and... There's some good stuff in there but it takes so long to get to the point and it's all opinion, anecdotes and analogies. It's been a while since I re-read it (I just signed up for good reads so I'm reviewing old reads) but I recall he also makes some weird comments about women so after that chapter I closed it and just counted my blessing that I got what I needed from it at the time.
Won't re-read.

Excited to read “Everything is f*cked” now. This is a book I plan to read multiple times.

Mark Manson’s philosophy overlooks a critical truth: society doesn’t afford women the same freedom to “not give a fuck.” That kind of detachment is a privilege, one reserved for those who aren’t punished for stepping outside societal expectations.

This book might sound profound at first glance, but a closer look reveals it’s mostly a collection of familiar ideas, wrapped up in edgy language.

2⭐️
Packed with BS and a few meaningful things, written by an author who is a self absorbed narcissist the only meaningful parts of this book were not original ideas of his. The parts that reflect his beliefs, definitely show him as a person he is which like I said a narcissist. This was my first ever “self help” book and This book makes me want it to be the last.

Really good for a self help book
