This book started out so promising, but somewhere in the middle it just took off on a tangent and I lost almost complete interest. It was like Grisham had his twist ending in mind, but didn't have a fully fleshed out story to go with it so he just stretched out a bunch of stuff in the middle to try and disguise the fact that he has trying to pull the wool over out eyes. It worked completely the opposite way though, because the simple fact that he was telling the story at all gave away the fact that it was going to end the way it did. Sadly, one of Grisham's most disappointing efforts. Would be 2 1/2 stars.

Well that was good! Thoroughly enjoyed the complex plot that slowly unravelled with each chapter. Outstanding author @johngrisham

Reading this book seemed like having someone tell you in detail about a movie. It's not like seeing the movie yourself, but you know exactly what happened. It felt like a series of things that happened, with no real description or narrative.
