13 Ways of Looking at a Fat Girl by Mona Awad

Wow. This was so, so bad.
As a fluffy girl I thought I’d be able to relate, and for the first few stories I could, but then Lizzie/Liz/Elizabeth/Beth (see??? She changes her name as she changes how she perceives herself, such a novel and not at all overdone trope) really disintegrates into such an unlikeable character that I really stopped caring about her. I read the last 50 or so pages mostly because DNFing at that point seemed silly.
If you want to read 212 pages of why it’s better to be fat and happy than skinny and miserable than this is the book for you.

Listening to this book on audio was super confusing. i figured out that the book was about one protagonist but every chapter was told in a different time of her life. not every chapter was from her POV tho. i think reading the book would be better.
not my favorite book by this author, though her writing is always beautiful

I went into this book with no knowledge of the premise or anything, since I liked the authors other works I figured I'd like it, but I really don't think it was for me.

Overall I really enjoyed the first part of this book, but the more it went on the more miserable it felt which is why I struggled to get to the end.

The writing as usual is still so beautiful, I adore how Mona writes so I have nothing bad to say there.

I think if you go into this, just know it's talking about a few sensitive subjects especially about weight and feminism.

Really just average for me. writing was good but the format of it being 13 parts of a whole wasn’t my favorite.
