Mark Millar has made a name for himself by taking high-concept twists on a superhero trope, usually with a healthy dose of gore, some surprises and some narrative heft. But over time, while I can appreciate these takes, they are also a little dated, a little edge-lordy and a touch samey. So while I absolutely loved the artwork, the voracity of Wolverine's bloodshedding and the ideas of the elseworld within, it's all made to the XTREME, it's made to shock, to be obviously grand and silly instead of built on real depth and breadth like something like Planet Hulk or even the Logan movie which is a rare example of a superior cherry-picked adaptation. It's fun, dark, fast but empty.

Cowboy!Logan!!! Umm I was genuinely shocked at moments which is great.

The fridging was fine because the payoff was worth it. Gory without being too gross idk how to explain

Don’t wanna read the spin off stuff cause this is such a good stand alone story I know that would taint it

I enjoyed the universe built here, my main gripe is how quickly it ends. I would have enjoyed a longer series to flesh out the world some more.

Goodness gracious! What a wild world & wild ride. I haven’t read any other marvel comics so this was an interesting place to start lol but it was fun (and also a terrifying world - no thank you, cannibal hillbilly Hulk).
