Loved the humor, as usual. The witty banter. Badass heroine. The storyline and the revelations at the end were excellent. I can’t wait for the next book.

I am so excited Daisy is back! She was an amazing character in the Demigods series and she brought back all of that same energy for this book. Although I highly recommend reading Demigods, you can easily read this book without knowing anything about the previous series. K.F. Breene made sure to provide the relevant information from Demigods without overexplaining for those that have read. It is a tricky balance but Katie does it well.

Daisy is still our stabby, loyal, fierce gremiln she was in the first series. Already mature for her age because of her past, she definitely acts older than her 19 years. Her problem solving skills are on point. Introducing a new manipulative MMC, really leaning into the inherent conflicts in the enemies to lovers trope.

This first book was more of an introduction and setup of the main plot that will occur in the next half of the duology.  We get a little more background into how the Fae work in a Demigod world. The conflict is really well thought out and developed and the world is expanded.

Despite the heavy lifting of this book, it doesn't feel weighed down. The banter between the main characters was fabulous and I absolutely LOVED all of the movie references. I found myself really invested in what was going to happen next. While not ending on a cliffhanger, per se, the book does leave you wanting more.

I highly recommend this book and I am anxiously awaiting the second half of the duology.

I waited for Daisy’s story for what felt like forever and that wait? WORTH IT 😭 I need more and I need it now

Daisy has decided to do whatever she can to keep her family safe...but will she sacrifice herself? Daisy is a firecracker and she's a very independent FMC.  Tarian is a cunning and arrogant fae who easily leaves Daisy speechless at times.  I love the banter between the two. I ATE it up!! The world building and action was great and I found myself breezing through the book. The twists and turns shocked me and I’m patiently waiting for book 2. This is perfect for lovers of fae, stabby FMC, banter, found family, and enemies to lovers.
You don’t have to read the Demigods of San Francisco (DOSF) before you dive into this book, but I would say, circle back to it when you finish.

A very special thanks to the author for the gifted copy.
