I'm pretty sure I read this book before, however, I am ill this weekend and this book was just the balm for my fevered mind. I do adore strong female characters!

It was a fun premise, but I found that there were a few anachronistic aspects such as Americanisms in the voice of Dorothy L. Sayers (“pantsuit,” “washroom”) and a manner that just didn’t work for this famously staunchly academic writer (even in her mystery writing). The descriptions of Agatha Christie’s clothes were hilarious and on point though. I guess I wasn’t in the mood to overcome those issues.

Enjoyed the mystery, but felt that the mystery writers’ characters could have been fleshed out more. Also, some of the interactions and dialogue felt contrived.
