This book was a 5 star the first time I read it, but reading it now as an adult I can truly understand all the concepts and social comentary being told and thus I've decided to knock down one star.
This book has one the liveliest cast of characters I've read in a long time, everyone is their own individual with their own hopes, dreams and motivations but also a unique set of flaws.
This is a book that deals with seemingly every theme under the sun, and it is done in an almost episodic maner with each chapter dealing with a diferent theme.
It also highlights the Brasil of that time almost mockingly, but that was the intention of the author.
All in all a fun read.

The narrative says one thing (is full of racism) but the story tells another. The worst character is the white guy who explore and steal from the poor just for profit
