After sitting on my shelf and renewing them twice from the library I finally started reading these (after stopping at volume two and not reading much of anything) again. I ended up tearing through them in a couple of days because I needed to know what happened!
The story flows so nicely. You're caught in this twilight time. It's not a tv show, it's not a novel, it's both. The suspense is definitely edge-of-your-seat and with each cliffhanger ending you automatically start reaching for the next volume.
By the end, most questions are answered, though to me, seemingly the most important question wasn't. Arrgh! But I guess that's perfect that way. It is truly a fantastic series. Characters are rich and life like. I can to care about characters I didn't think I would have in the beginning and by the time I got to the last volume I wanted to cheer or exclaim out loud.
Now that I'm done with this, I suppose, as I've been told, I should start on Pluto! Library, here I come!

TLDR: Probably more of a 4.5 than a 5, but I will round up. There is a lot of character development and a lot of action. A very strong volume for the series.
Longer Review: This volume really develops our main cast of characters. That is what I really enjoy about it. In addition to this, the volume takes its time to build up to the action so that it feels very tense as it is happening. The last volume was a bit weaker in my opinion, feeling like a set up volume, but it paid off. This volume does it a bit better in my opinion because there is a pay off in the volume. There are action scenes and moments with high intensity.
My issues with the volume are not new, but issues I have had with the volumes throughout. Chiefly, that I feel some issues feel a little too good to be true. In this volume, they were:No one was able to figure out where Tenma was and stop him? Like literally, the BK officer figures it out, then Dieter squad is trying to track them down, and yet none of these people get there in time to stop him. Not to mention, one librarian is going around spilling gasoline for a fire and it is like, no one there smelled it? Or noticed? It wasn't enough to ruin the volume for me, but enough for me to not want to give it a strong 5/5. Don't start the series here though. You can, and you would enjoy this volume. It could definitely stand alone. However, you would feel lost as far as the importance for some of the events. 4.5/5

Halfway through the series already, and I found this volume the best of the best. It's a gift to everyone who loved and enjoyed the series from the beginning. Urasawa knows how to tell stories. Hope the rest will be never less.
