Yall this book is BATSHIT and I’m obsessed. Yes there is a lot of problematic 90s stuff (birth control, abortion, fatphobia, misogyny). But, the overall story is so fun, daisy is absolutely adorable, Alex is grumpy and swoony and hot. I absolutely loved this.

i really liked the writing style but i’m not a huge fan of the characters or relationships for some reason. i’m pretty sure it’s a me problem though because most people love it and i genuinely loved the prose.

This book was entertaining! It gave me circus, it gave me Romanovs, it gave me grumpy/sunshine, it gave me an arranged marriage (on premises that were so wild but like, I was here for the drama)...I can definitely see this story being produced into a t.v. show or a movie, and I thought it was fun from start to finish!

[Some of the elements/themes are dated (which isn't a critique, just something to keep in mind) - and I would keep an eye out for minor trigger warnings like animal abuse, misogyny and mature circumstances surrounding underage characters]
