I watched the movie on an airplane years ago and finally got around to the book. I liked it and thought it was funnier and more engaging than the movie. Scott Pilgrim is an affable slacker living in the kind of fantasy world we all drift into from time to time. Or maybe we don't'? I'm a bit of a slacker too. I think all people assume that other people are a bit like them, maybe not as smart or as good looking, but of similar opinion. But, that's more a default setting and if I really think about it I know plenty of people who are nothing like Scott. they are all business all the time, or vicious bullies, bible thumpers, or angry cranks.
Anyway, it was quite good and I'll probably pick up the next volume soon.

Scott Pilgrim is classic. His overall apathy combined with badass fighting skills makes him probably the most apathetic fighting character that has ever lived. Also, he's totally awesome and whatever.

This is an amazing introduction to the series!!! I’m checking this series out after watching the movie a bunch over the years and recently watching the anime! The artwork is also amazing as well. Immediately starting volume 2 right now!!!

i started reading these comics because the movie, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, is one of my top 10 favorite movies of all time!! i love seeing how the comic lines up with the movie and just how true to the comic the movie is!! can't wait for vol. 2!!
Practically the exact same as the movie so far, which I love, so five stars? I guess?
I'm no longer taking advice from the person that recommended this book to me.

it's only the first book in a series, but the world building felt natural, the characters are funny & the dialogue is satisfying! the art style and voice match the plot. it doesn't take itself too seriously, i can't wait to read more!
