Oh my god I love it. The film adaptation is my comfort movie and I’ve watched it a million times. I’m so glad I finally started reading the comics. I appreciate how closely the film sticks to the comics.

read this in middle school and loved it - rereading the series in years and years later and it’s still as energetic, funny, and flows smoothly for being so fast paced.

fun. i like the art
This was a strong, especially cute introductory volume! I really enjoyed the art style and how self-aware the writing and humor was. The characters - even the supporting cast like Stacey, Kim Pine, Stephen Stills, and Neal Nordegraf - were well-constructed, with unique and (thus far) consistent mannerisms. Considering the cast was relatively large, this is pretty impressive.
The world and magic-system is less defined right now, but obviously I'm kicking back and enjoying the ride until we get more explanations. I'm intrigued by the casual inclusion of the sub-space highway as a reality that simply hasn't "made its way to Canada yet." The fight was likewise taken completely in stride, in a manner that rather surprised me, particularly the information that Scott is one of the best fighters in the area (meaning either we have a case of a supremely unreliable narrator driving the representation of facts or that the world is one that operates in ways that are both highly ordinary and highly extraordinary; either option is intriguing).
Also, I love Wallace Wells.

Anything with music in it is awesome \m/ Chords to songs are a big bonus! It also helps that it has witty characters :)) I wish I read this before watching the movie, though.
fast-paced
Story has some creeper/sketchy vibes and a character also uses the r-slur. I was expecting to love this, but ugh
