Look. It’s not a good book, but it was what I wanted post English degree.

Don’t waste your time with the show. The book made me understand so many things the show failed to explain. The story feels WAY better paced too. Chapter by chapter, I was hooked. It also helped that Season 1 of the show only captured HALF of this story. So instead of waiting for a season 2, just read this.

I've heard lots of great things about this book so I think that made my expectations kind of high and overall made this feel a bit of a letdown. There isn't a lot said about how/why people came to be in these "silos" and the ending is a bit lackluster and left you wanting. I felt a lot of details about how is all works were pretty glossed over lacking depth. The biggest issue I had though was the main plot point, why the lie when it just didn't seem necessary...

Loved the writing style of this book! I was really on the edge of my seat the entire time with the changing perspectives. Howey truly challenges your preconceived notions of how you think a story should go, so it is a surprise at every turn. Loved the world-building and I’m excited for the rest of the series!
