The amount of Will and Tessa in this novella was incredible. I cried because Will spoke. And the Jessa at the end was adorable. And Jace is amazing. So snarky and perfect as normal. Just a fabulous novella.
So, this is another one of the short stories from the Shadowhunter world but this one comes from the Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy which follows Simon instead.
If you kind of ignore the parts about Simon and Jace and just focus on the story that Tessa tells, of the London institute and their fight against “Jack the Ripper” then you can follow back along with Tessa, Jem & Will which is quite nice. You get an insight into how they lived and worked as Shadowhunters whilst also giving an insight into their family lives as well.
I think going with these ones is going to be a bit more difficult if they keep jumping between time periods but at least I’m somewhat following the chronological order that I started on.

⋆⋆⅓ — i love wessa so much, but why do none of the action based tsc short stories live up to the intensity hinted at in the premise? the jack the ripper plotline ended before it even started and then it went right back to simon angsty times. i like simon, but i was not really reading this for him?

I loved this one. It patched up holes with Jace and him being a Herondale. The 1888 story was fun. The -0.03 stars is for the slow beginning and ending.

It was really cool seeing a small glimpse into Tessa and Will’s marriage.
Oh my god did this really mention Will Herondale? This will be my favourite.. I have waited soo so long for Jace finally speaking to Tessa!!
