reading this just made me realise how much I miss these characters!! loved simon in this one, and seeing will and tessa as parents just ... my heart, I can’t take this ❤️
SIMON TO JACE: "How did you get roped into this?"
JACE TO SIMON: "Just lending a graceful and athletic hand. It would be remiss of me to deny the newest generation of Shadowhunters a glimpse of what they could become if they were very, very, very lucky."
SIMON: "You're doing this to impress Clary. Also checking up on me."
JACE: "By the Angel, he's gone telepathic. Basically, everyone's pitching in since all your teachers ran away. I'm assisting with training. Like it or not."
**JACE, LATER ON A TREE, DEMONSTRATING AND EXPLAINING TO TO 'FALL' FROM A TREE TO THE SHADOWHUNTERS IN TRAINING**
"Now, I look at the ground. I choose my landing site. Remember--protect the head. If there's any way to break momentum, any other surface you can use to lessen the length of the fall, use it--unless it's dangerous. Don't aim for sharp rocks or branches that could pierce or break you. Bend the knees, keep relaxed...."
**ME AFTER READING/LISTENING TO "Protect the head" AS A REMINDER AND OTHER GREAT JACE MOMENTS**
OH MY GOSH! Okay, this story was even better with the great Jack the Ripper story and to also read from Tessa and Will Herondale POV as well. one of my favorites that I JUST about... okay, did die from laughter cause I had to pause the audio book because of it...
TESSA: "It's not appropriate."
WILL: "He likes it."
T: "Children like all sorts of things, Will. They like sweets and fire and trying to stick their head up the chimney. Just because he likes the dagger..."
W: "Look how he holds it."
LITTLE JAMES: *stabs the dagger into a sofa cushion and sends out a burst of feathers.* "Ducks."
bahahahahahaha *rotf* holy crap I died just after the word "ducks" hahahahaha and then as a good mom Tessa is, quickly gives her little one a wooden spoon he's fond of playing with. Oh why oh WHY did this story give me even higher hopes for wanting a Herondale even more? Jace and Will are DEFINITELY AND TRULY related in ways Jace can't imagine. *face palm* oh imagine those two in the same room....
so 5 stars ONLY because we saw some of the old Infernal Devices gang in this one as well. and for what I call "Jaceisms" haha

I loved getting to see the Clockwork gang here. it was too much for my heart to handle but I still loved it.
HERONGRAYSTAIRS! Oh my god I missed Will and Tessa and Jem so much. And of course I missed the banter between Simon and Jace. I loved this!
Um? Another story with Will and Jem? YES!!!!!!!

I really enjoyed all the parts with Tessa and Will. The parts with Simon are very frustrating, if you've read City of Heavenly Fire then you know why. Better than some of the Bane Chronicles stories.

Love reading about Simone's life at the academy. It's never dull.

Creo que ha sido la mejor historia hasta ahora, por un momento creí que leía TID y luego leía la antigua relación entre Simon y Jace.
Demasiados feelings.
