WILL. JACE. TESSA. Need I really say more?
The ending of the "Jack the Ripper" tale was a bit rushed and not fleshed out nearly enough for my tastes, but all in all, this was a very good installment. As always, I highly recommend it for all Cassandra Clare fans.

I was almost reconsidering reading the Shadowhunter Academy installments, but this one made it all worth it! We got Jace, Tessa, Will, a smidge of Jem, and we even saw Cecily and Gabriel. You could say I was happy. My issue with these is that it took me four (maybe five) books to warm up to Simon in the first place (I hated that he had nine lives and seriously escaped death a minimum of 5 times throughout TMI), and all of the sudden we are back to square one with his character development (aka his annoyance level versus my likeness of him). Is it too much to hope he has his memory back by the end of this mini-series? I need him and Izzy back together ASAP.
This novella just made me realize how much I missed The Infernal Devices so much.
I miss Tessa, Will, Jem, and everybody else that was a part of The Infernal Devices. It was really great to see a glimpse of how their lives were after the events of Clockwork Princess. I wish their story went on forever.
However, I was a little surprised how very little this novella had to do with Simon. Don't get me wrong, I love Tessa and all of the characters from The Infernal Devices, but I was expecting more of Simon and the students of the Shadowhunter Academy. On top of that, the Jack the Ripper mission felt repetitive. Interesting, but repetitive.
I was actually waiting for the scene between Tessa and Jace or between Jace and the real Zachariah and I was disappointed that we never really got that in The Mortal Instruments and was only mentioned here in this novella.
I loved seeing The Infernal Devices crew in this one but unfortunately I wasn't too excited about this novella. It felt much slower than the previous two.

The best one so far! TID is my favorite shadowhunter series, and there was so much from those books! It made me so happy to get to go back to the London Institute and see Tessa and Will with their kids. I am loving these short stories and they are making me so excited for all the new content that Cassandra Clare is writing.
This was so amazing because of some extra stuff to do with Tessa and Will :) it was also so sweet to see Simon writing his letter to Isabelle at the end too.
