Hi Will, hi Tessa, hi Jem, hi Jessamine, hiiiii James.... Ah. My heart.
I loveeee how we’re meeting everyone in these novellas. So much. Such an awesome introduction/prep for the other series.
I feel like had I read this before Lady Midnight, it wouldn’t have taken as much time for me to get in tune with Julian and Emma, and I’d be able to see my old favorite characters when I needed them the most.
There wouldn’t have been this weird “I missed you all when I started LM but I’m not sure I even know/want to read about you now, sorry not sorry I’m all Emma’s and Julian’s” thing.
But really both the LM book and the first novella took no time to hook me up and I really don’t mind being in this world again now.

Sono stufa di leggere libri che dovrebbero essere su Simon o su Magnus e poi sono sempre sugli Herondale! Scrivi Le cronache degli Herondale così finalmente ce li togliamo dalle scatole! Non è possibile che non si possa leggere un racconto su simon ma ci debbano sempre essere di mezzo loro.

Yes this novella just slowly killed me and then mended me then made me start crying. I don't know how these authors do it but they have just pulled my heart apart and then put it back together again. I cried for characters I loved in this and through it all Simon was a rock and made me laugh through my tears.
gosh this was so riveting!! have gone over "jack the ripper" in school it was so interesting to read cass' take on it! I did think the ending to tessa's story was a bit rushed though. and would've loved more cecily!!
as always, the life of tessa and will and jem leaves me feeling so bittersweet.
