We were SPOILED with this one!! Jace & Simon back together with their funny banter. TESSA recounting a story from the 1800s, giving us another glimpse into her life with Will, their family & Jem! Jack the Ripper’s real story within this world! So many interesting parts to this novella and was definitely my favorite so far!

Enjoyed Tessa’s past story

This was most certainly one of the best yet. I really loved getting to see the crew from TID and loved seeing their little kiddos. Can't wait for The Last Hours!

See who read only this short story out of all the stories in tales of shadowhunter academy? Me.... If the reason is not obvious already it's because it features 1880's london! And obviously characters from TID, especially WILL HERONDALE😭😭

"I am Tessa Gray, but once I was called Tessa Herondale"
Shut up Tessa darling😭
Okay, I loved this story. We got so much in those few pages. Will and Jem. WILL AND JEM. You broke my heart again here Cassandra Clare. 😭😭  Gabriel and Will's banter AHHH how I missed it😭😂✨🖤
And a brand new take of Jack the Ripper's murders!! God, I loved it so much and it kind of made sense as well!! So, you know I am gonna pretend that Jack the Ripper murders were caused by a demon, and Shadowhunters killed him off😌😂 This could have been a WHOLE NOVEL! and I would have DEVOURED it! Nevertheless, I enjoyed being back in 80's London🥺

1/22: 4 stars. Some of the characters I don't know so I'm guessing they are from the Mortal Instruments series which I haven't read yet. It was lovely getting to see Tessa and Will's little family. The Jack-the-Ripper story was well contained for a novella as well.
