I enjoyed this light romance novel. There was no spice and I really enjoyed that. It was a wonderful light summery romance about travel and history. I especially loved that it contained some history and italian stories. I loved that the main character was learning more about herself, her country and her past. I will say that I felt quite disconnected from the characters especially the love interests. I couldn't get myself to fall in love with Ren. That however might be because I made the mistake of watching the movie first and while the book is better I went into the book with expectations. The book and movie are very different, but regardless I think that this book is worth it if you are looking for a fun light easy to read summer book.

This was pretty predictable and cheesy but sometimes I just want a book where I don't really have to think about anything. Like pure escapism. Also Italy has now become more of a priority on my bucket list. I enjoyed the mystery aspect of Lina trying to figure out why her mother sent her to Italy and what the truth of her family is. However I did guess what was going to happen very early on. I thought the romance was cute, but honestly a little unnecessary. I might've liked it better if they were just really close friends because their nonplatonic love for each other ended up causing unnecessary conflict that just annoyed me. Also Howard <3333. Howard is so sweet to Lina and loves her so well and loved Lina's mother so well. The ending was quite unrealistic but then again this whole book isn't very realistic and thats ok. Also I read another review where someone pointed out that Lina never really processes the many traumatic things that happen to her in this book and that is a very good point. She just moves on like it's nothing after a few hours and those things were definitely not nothing. Overall it was a cute summery read

This book came to me at the exact right time. I was going through a rough patch and it was enough plot to keep me interested but simple enough that I was able to focus on it. If you loved Stephanie Perkins Anna, Lola, and Isla books this is right in the same vein. Brought me back to simpler times and just a joyful reading experience.

This book has such strong themes. I  cried like 3 times in the last hundred pages and the pictures of love in this book were beautiful. The mistakes and consequences of one's past life are a theme that grips you and the reminder that the thrill of selfish love is fleeting are all things that really stuck out to me. This book surprised me and moved me. I was kinda expecting a surface-level meet-cute romance but instead was given a beautiful story of love, grief, and beauty.

So just finished my fourth read of this book and I realized i haven't written a review on my favorite book of all time like HOW DARE I?!

Anyways all you need to know is that i love the feel good vibes of a summer spent in Italy, the warmth of the found family trope happening, the originality of the journal entries and the whole adventure, the heaetbreak of loss the main character, Lina, experiences and her slow journey through healing, the movie worthy vibes of the teenage party and angst and of course the "makes me kick my feet in the air and giggle" romance.
