This was a quick, steamy second chance MM romance with a bit of hate to love (again) thrown in. The maudlin inner monologue grated a little, but I need to know what happened between the secondary characters so I'll be carrying on with this.

What a book. Another fantastic MM romance from Ella Frank. There is just something about her style of writing that stands above most others. The story of Finn and Brantley was hot, heavy and full of beauty. Their stood the test of time and separation, to be reunited and finding their love had not faded at all. I just loved the characters, and reading how they were when they were younger, to how they have evolved into the fine men they are today. Their journey was not easy, but the path to finding your other half rarely is. Ella Frank has churned out another hit.

I didn’t expect to like this one as much as I did

This was great. Loved it! Should have known since I loved [b:Try|17798649|Try (Temptation, #1)|Ella Frank|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1375230186s/17798649.jpg|24898058]. 3.5 stars.

Oh Finn, i waited for you and i wanted to love you but what can i say, darling? i just can't give what you don't deserve not even for the cameos.

Daniel Finley is a 30 year old lawyer, he lives in Chicago but he is from florida, he left 7 years ago but now he's been summoned.

Brantley Hayes is a douche bag and i hate him.
Ok, not really, i don't hate him, but i don't like him.
Brantley is 38? or 39 i don't remember to be honest. He was in a relationship with Finn 7 years ago but he wanted him to have a great career so he pushed him to leave florida.

What i liked:
i actually liked Finn a lot, he was very human, he wanted not to care but that's not always so simple, he wanted to hurt but sometimes hurting the person you love hurt you worse so i liked his character and i liked his inner monologue.

I liked his friend, i forgot his name, Derek? i finished this a few days ago, sorry.
but yeah he was pretty cool and i definitely want to read more about him.

The past relationship between Brantley and Finn was actually kinda taboo because they were student - teacher but i liked how it was portrayed, they were both adults and nobody took advantage of anyone and there was never an issue about this.

The little snippets about the past.

Spoiler the little Logan and Tate cameo! it was so good so see them in their bar and happy, Logan always so cocky and hot.

My issue with this book is something i can't exlain because it's basically the plot of the book, i understood Brantley's first decision to a point but it was too final and his summoning is just... it made me uncomfortable, what did he expect after 7 years?

this was the perfect combination of cute and sexy. The characters were so good and I loved the flashbacks of their past. Can’t wait to read the 2nd one

I enjoyed most of this book, I think. I ended up skipping a chunk towards the end, not sure why... just sort of wanted to get on to the fluffy end, I think. Not my favorite Ella Frank book, but not my least favorite by any means.

BTW, I loved Logan and Tate's cameo. Super cute.

Title: Finley
Author: Ella Frank
Category: M/M Romance
Characters: 3.5
Plot: 3.5
Schorching Level: 4
HEA: You'll see...

I love M/M romance. I like it when there is conflict, angst and deep emotion. This book had it all, but it didn't move me as much as I expected it to.
Daniel Finley decides to return home after receiving a note from his past flame, Professor Brantley Hayes.
He hasn't heard from him for seven eyars, but against all odds he decides to follow the note's plea and return.
Brantley doens't expect to see Finn after so many years, let alone learn that he accepted his invitation to return.
When they meet again, sparks fly and old flames are rekindled. But can Daniel forgive that Bantley pushed him away all those years ago?
The book was sweet and I liked the couple's chemistry, but it didn't hook me. I don't know what went wrong and I am sure I am the minority here, but I wanted something...more. Unlike the other books I've read from Ella Frank, this one didn't captivated me. But maybe it has to do with my mood.
If you are a fan, then do not miss this because as always, the author has great skill in writing fantastically schorching scenes between her characters.
