I am a huge M/M romance fan as well as a fan of this author. With that being said there I went back and forth while reading this book. At the start I was turning page after page waiting to see what happened and then towards the middle I found myself wanting to skim through parts. Then it had an amazing ending. I adore Brantley and Daniel but I lacked the emotional connection that I like to have with characters while I read. The story line was good, but I found it hard to follow the point of view sometimes and found myself getting confused on to who was actually talking. The first part of the book had me on the edge of my seat to see what happened when they were finally reunited. There were some extremely steamy scenes and the emotions were there. Towards the middle I felt like things were missing that should have been there. I felt like i needed to know more of their past in order to follow along. Then towards then end I started to feel the connection between the two and actually teared up a little. A few small fixes to some plot holes and I think this book would be amazing. While this was not my favorite book I would still recommended it.

I LOVED the Temptation Series that Ella wrote so I was excited to read this. Especially since I heard Logan and Tate had a little cameo in the book. I'm pretty convinced after reading that series and this book that Ella is the best at writing M/M books.
This book was a second chance romance book were the two main characters Finley and Brantley never really moved on or stopped loving each other. When they first met years ago in college Brantley was Finley's college professor. I love me some forbidden romance! When they reunite several years later I could feel the love lingering between the two of them. I kept wishing they would get their HEA.
I thought this was a very sweet story. Finley and Brantley had an everlasting love. I could've done with some more drama and steamy scenes though. ;) At times it was A LITTLE confusing since it was written in third person. I can read third person, but when the two main characters being the same sex sometimes it's hard to distinguish between the two. I'm really hoping the next book in this series is about their friends Jordan and Derek. I'm very curious about those two!!
I’ve read a lot of Ellas books by now and usually I really like them, but I just couldn’t connect with the characters in this one.
It had potential for sure, ex-lovers reunited, lots of tension and emotions - but I didn’t feel the chemistry between the characters and the inner monologues went on and on to the point where I was tempted to skip some parts.
Maybe my expectations were too high, but sadly “Finley” wasn’t a book for me. I’ll definitely read more of Ella’s books but I’ll leave the Sunset Cove series for now.

3/4
I liked this book although some things have not convinced me (since Finn reappears, the professor acts as a teenager, looks like a horny zombie without brain who needs just a look from his lover. Then, why waiting for seven years? seriously? and finally : Finn comes home after seven years and remains barely a day with his family then moved to prof's house for two weeks ...).
Having said that, it was nice to see even for a short time Tate and Logan again (i miss you guys!), adorable as always! and I look forward to reading the story of Derek and Jordan, I'm curious!

Finley is book one in the Sunset cove duet. A spin off of the Temptation series. This is a MM second chance romance.
We first meet Finley when he tries to hit on a BrElla coupe favourite in the Temptation series. But there is more to Finley than we saw.
Finley left his home to pursue his studies and to become a lawyer. But he didn't go willingly. He was sent to live his life, but the man he loved. Brantley sent Finley to live his life and promised he'd call him home. 7 years pass and he gets the letter. It's time to come home, Finn
This book has all the feels and some great tropes. with a medium level of angst it's hard not to get totally consumed by this story. It does pull at the heart strings a little. But their journey is worth the ending.
There is also small moments and mentions of Derek and Jordan to build you up for Devil's Kiss book 2 in this duet.

I loved finely ,it was emotional and really well written. though as a fun of MM books i would have loved a little more sex scenes and description the scenes were fade to black.. im glad my favourite book couple made a cameo at the end Heart you Logan and Tate.
Overall it was a good read.

I absolutely loved Daniel Finley. Loved him in TRUST but this book we really get a great look at what made him act the way he did with Logan and Tate. Arrogant, smart, loving and persistent are just a few words I would use to describe Finn. Seven years away has changed Finn in multiple ways but one look at Brantley, the only man he has ever loved, all his feelings come back to the surface with anger being the strongest. Brantley sent Finn away years before thinking that it would help Finn. He never thought that Finn would stay away for so long. Wanting Finn back takes only one note and with sending that one note Brantley hopes that he gets everything he needs. The love between the men has never wavered even all the years apart.
The side characters were just as fantastic as the main characters, I am looking forward to book two. Can't wait for Derek's story. Also a BIG plus for me in Finley, Logan and Tate made an appearance and I loved it. Miss those two!
