definitely better than The Love Hypothesis, i feel like there couldve been more indirect characterization instead of the entire rant Levi went on
about how Bee had commitment issues and why
but it definitely had more depth than the first. i know some people think that the fanfiction aspect is cringey but i think the science and STEM aspects definitely made up for it. the part when
Felicette attacked Guy
was kind of comicy but other than that i really liked the book and would 1000% reread :)

After my new found love for the “The Love Hypothesis”. I quickly took up the second edition of the cozy STEM romance stories to keep filling my achy heart whilst doing chores (listened to it as an audiobook).

Plot wise this book had the potential to be better than the first book (fancy NASA project, toxic ex,  Twitter personality), to me those plot lines never get the weight they should, they are spread unevenly and get solved quite fast and they never link as well as they should. I can’t quite put the finger on it but there was a bit more connection work between plot lines and characters to make them work truly well.

Characters are also a bit more flat than in the first book. It’s always obvious that he’s into her and her trauma with commitment is also not developed as deep as it could’ve because, as previously mentioned, that plot line gets quickly put to rest to leave space for other plot lines and doesn’t regain weight anymore in the book.

Now, what I severely pleasantly surprised with was the ending. Completely out of left field and putting a more serious and dangerous end to the story, it had my jaw dropped for all of the second to last chapter. Which I was not expecting from the quite predictable story line. Kudos to that.

Maybe because I had just recently read The Love Hypothesis, I couldn’t help it but compare both stories and seeing this one fell short despite the plot potential. Would recommend the first one instead of this for a cozy read, but it wasn’t bad either.
Happy with the content, wishing for more excellency.

Ok ok ok I like Ali Hazelwood's writing, and I love reading about women in STEM academia. But the largeness of Levi was starting to grate on my nerves, and then the kitchen smutty scene just put me over the edge. My asexual ass could never.

This book was adorable! It was so cute how the characters are dorky and act around eachother. The angst, and tension off the back was perfect. I love when books have where the male main character has been in love her with forever and doesn’t think she feels the same way. And this book did it well! I I loved the spicy parts of it! It wasn’t overdone it was just the right amount which is perfect for my taste. The character development is amazing in this book. The miscommunication to learning to express their feelings. I also lived for Bee being a girl boss. And Levi was there supporting her and I loved it! Also Levi..sometimes I thought he was a little obsessive, but it was more cute than obsessive. The way he talks about Bee is just something to gush about. The way it has been her since the moment he has say her! Ugh, I wish!
