Looking at nature; in rhyme.
Illustrations show children of various colors.

Cuter-than-cute! An adorable story with lots of little bitty things! Would definitely use for a baby lapsit.

I adore Patrice Barton's soft illustrations. This book is so sweet- just right for my younger story time group.

Absolutely adorable. Cute and sweet are also good descriptors starting with the endpapers. I love decorated endpapers and this one has pastel paw prints scattered about. The dedication page features a smiling puppy romping around and a cute little blue bird flitting about. It's a perfect look at spring with cuddly critters and young children.

The only complaint I have is the line "little weeping willow." When is a weeping willow ever little? The illustration didn't make it look little either. That was odd in my mind, but it only distracted me a tiny bit and toddlers and pre-school children will be unlikely to have that same question. They will probably just be smiling and giggling with the children in the book the whole way through.

Recommendation: If you have young children around, this is a great quiet book to read together when snuggling especially during spring. It's sure to bring smiles and happy feelings.

This is a very cute and simple little book. It is great for Storytime as the families can act out each spread, flying like birds, tickling knees, sneezing etc.

This second Little collaboration from Elizabeth McPike and Patrice Barton, following last year's Little Sleepyhead, are truly a joy. McPike's minimal rhythmic text paired with Barton's soft illustrations provide a readaloud that readers will sink into. I especially love that the children and animals are performing the same action in the majority of the spreads. This is such a sweet read aloud and I'm hopeful that there will eventually be board book editions!

This one is really cute and relatively simple. Great for the younger crowd as it wont take too long to read through the whole story - perfect for those shorter attention spans!

Despite the simplistic story, it was still super cute and super fun to read through. It was all about little friends such as caterpillars, dogs, etc. Things that are our friends even though they don't look like us.

The pictures were not overly detailed either, but they were still very pleasant to look at.

I love this illustrator. Cute, simple story about all different kinds of Little Bitty Friends, including bugs. Good message, simple rhyming text, would work well for little ones. Would use for a friendship storytime.
