A perfectly lovely book about sisters going through it (grief, addiction, mommy issues, etc.). I’m a sucker for a sister story.

For the most part, I really enjoyed this book, but a few aspects let it down for me. One of the things I appreciated most was how imperfect the characters are throughout—how their relationships often feel strained and even hard work at times. I found this made them feel much more authentic. However, the epilogue felt unnecessary and a little cliché, almost as if the author was trying to wrap everything up too neatly. It felt like an attempt to impose a tidy resolution on a story that thrived on its complexities.

The writing and storytelling were brilliant - thoughtful and well-crafted - but moments like the epilogue took away from the novel’s otherwise strong character development. It sometimes felt as though the author was trying to do too much, which slightly diluted the impact of the relationships she had built so well.

That said, I still found the book incredibly powerful and engaging. Despite its minor flaws, it left a strong impression on me.
