definitely a 4.25/5 for me

I loved this book. I thought the three sisters were so beautifully and intricately written— their relationships with each other and with others were distinct and poignant, and the grief they all experienced was handled in such different ways. I was really taken by this book, especially cuz I didn’t *love* cleopatra and Frankenstein. But the familial aspect of this really kept me interested. 

I wouldn’t have changed much about the book at all. Would rec.

Coco Mellors writes so well. I picked this book up because I loved her first book, Cleopatra and Frankenstein. She did not disappoint. I love how vivid each description is. I love how many different themes she is able to explore in the span of 339 pages. I have nothing but good things to say about this book and its author.

mostly LOVED. all of the sisters were flawed and a bit irritating at times, ngl, but their imperfections and messiness made them all the more lovable and real. mellors really does know how to create complex characters! lucky is my girl 🩵
