I forgot this was a Little Women retelling and I had just rewatched Greta Gerwig's movie recently and wow. The siblingry of it all.

There are moments I don't love
like the relationship between Bonnie and Pavel; her weird mention of everyone's countries of origin like what's with that
but overall this book really made me feel and I left it feeling good and not devastated.

this book was hard to read, I find that you need to be in a similar state of mind to the characters to read this book, since I was not I found it very hard to pick up the book and read it.

it's not because it's not good but maybe because I am a sister as well, I found this book too realistic for my taste, too close to home.

all of the characters were very well thought out and it was clear that they weren't just carbon copies of one another and that they all had their own personalities, which I highly enjoyed even if I didn't exactly like some of the characters (Avery & Lucky).

overall I would recommend this book but I don't think I would re-read this one, but I would never say never!

It’s been a long time since a book made me ugly cry. About connection, longing, loss, fear, and family, this book was beautifully crafted by someone who intimately understands the human condition. As the oldest sister of five siblings, I connected with Avery but there were components of the other sisters that resonated as well. The shared grief and the different ways that each sister tried to manage that grief was heartbreakingly real. I will be thinking about the Blue sisters for a long, long time.
