A perfectly lovely book about sisters going through it (grief, addiction, mommy issues, etc.). I’m a sucker for a sister story.

I was disappointed by this one. I think if I had a sister I might have liked it more because I get the sense that its relatability is what makes this story so good. This is an entirely character-driven book with almost no plot. It truly is a book about three different sister’s POV on how they are dealing or not with their sister’s unexpected death. Big themes of self-destructive behavior throughout.

One thing I really loved was the quotable one-liners that the author gave us. I wrote down many, many quotes to remember.

“It was easy to love someone in the beginnings and endings, it was all the time in between that was so hard.”

This book was full of emotions. Each sister is trying to find themselves again after losing one of their sisters from endometriosis. Every single one had their own issues that they could no longer cope with and lost their connection with one another and outside relationships. It’s a book about grief and how it changes someone from good to bad.
