Wow. I really loved like 95% of this book. The other 5% was mixed throughout and no deal breakers or anything. I cried and fell in love with the book from the prologue and cried and fell in love with the book again at the epilogue. The audiobook was great and I look forward to purchasing a hard copy to reread again. A lovely, challenging story about sisters, addiction (in all of its forms), how hard it is to be a human and exist and have relationships, and more.

Also! As someone who struggles with endometriosis and PCOS, it was beautiful to normalize Nikki’s story; alongside with the other sister’s, that you can’t always tell someone’s struggles from the outside. Nor can your assumptions or presumptions of them change how they feel.

I met the author at a reading and she was just so lovely. It was interesting to hear some of her thoughts behind the characters and the plot and how she worked. 
I think you can really feel how much the author has grown in her craft since Cleopatra and Frankenstein. The characters felt real and well-rounded and some of the lines were heartbreakingly sad.
