This would be a good read aloud for the students to understand the importance of math in every day life. Deals with division of equal groups during a family reunion. It is a picture book.

I really enjoy the idea at the back of having everyone have their own cardboard set of tables to play with. It’d be easy to ask the kids to tell me what’s wrong with the scenario after each movement.
