Great book based on the life of a young woman sold into slavery as a prostitute in Pompeii. The author does a great job of not getting into too dark of details while still relating the helplessness of slaves/women in ancient times. The character development of Amara as she strives to escape her life at The Wolf Den is also very intriguing. How she doesn’t want the darkness to change who she is as a person, but she has the play the game in order to get the upper hand. Highly recommended if you like slightly heavier themed historical fiction.
