I recommend the digital or printed version for this book. I tried to listen to this as an audiobook, but I struggled with the letter format and worldbuilding/names in the audio version. I requested and waited for the ebook, and I’m so glad I did! The book slowly enveloped me into the world, and I found myself falling in love with the characters and their anxieties and their affections. I am excited for the second in the series!

Very hard to read because the language was superfluous and the timelines were very confusing. I was also very confused by the world this book takes place in.

I’m somewhere between 3.5-4 stars. this was a GORGEOUS book, and i really enjoyed it! it was a slower read for me because i really had to take my time getting through each paragraph because there was SO much detail. i read it all in one day but i definitely set aside at least 6-7 hours reading it. i really enjoyed the evolution of the relationship between all of the characters, and i think I’ll be continuing the series!

i will say, the style of writing was difficult for me to get into and it would be the only reason i hesitate to read any other books in this series. some of the letters were a bit dry & i believe each character could’ve used more of a unique voice or personality.
