This is such a beautiful book which really highlights the difficulties of life. It provides a wonderful narrative about love and religion through a series of thought provoking letters. I cannot recommend this book enough.

At first blush, an abrasive and heartbreaking story concerning an enslaved Black woman and her relations -- but gradually unfolds into stories of queer love, settler colonialism, resisting racism, and building family. Really loved this one
