I really liked that this book is based around best friends who are a bit older. It was very heartwarming and its so relatable, my best friend and I always talk about what we'll be like when we're older. It is also true for my best friend that she always knows what to say to make me feel better. Really relatable to me and I imagine many others who have close friends.

I really liked the thrill of this book, trying to find out who did what and is the gentleman resident who he is claiming to be or has there been something very odd happen.

Florence is such a great character, she's quirky and really lovely.

I absolutely love in the blurb the 3rd thing I'll love about this book:
3) Even the smallest life can leave the loudest echo.
This is so true, and I loved the connections to this in the book.

I will be reading this authors book, the trouble with goats and sheep because I've enjoyed this one so much.

Better than Thursday Murder Club.

I didn't like how the bad guy got caught only because of the police and not because of Flo. It kind of felt like, what was the point then? Yes, some of the reveals were good but he never gets busted for breaking into Flo's apartment or anything. Give us something! Kind of a downer throughout and especially towards the end. I guess it's really not a mystery but more of a discovery that Flo is senile. Great.

This book was surprisingly good. I didn't love it and I didn't hate it, but I give 4 stars instead of 3 because I ended up enjoying this so much more in the end.

This is a super book. Florence is in her eighties and living in sheltered accommodation. Her best friend Elsie is her constant companion. A new resident, Gabriel, moves in and Florence recognises him as someone frightening from her past, even though he is calling himself a different name, Ronald. With fellow resident Tom, they go searching for clues about what happened and why he has turned up at this point in time. The book is written in a very engaging style and flits back and forth between the recent past and Florence's youth. I enjoyed reading about the lives of the other characters, Miss Ambrose the warden and Simon the handyman. The ending seemed a little far fetched as did the motivations of Ronald. But I would highly recommend reading it.

4 and a half
I loved this book. The characters were endearing and the story was interesting and I thought like her last book that I read (I hadn’t realized this is the same author I just read), it gives you a lot to think about. We often don’t have all the information we think we have. How many regrets could be avoided.
