I love Anthony Horowitz for writing this book. Alex Rider is by far my favourite book series, because of how relatable Alex is. Obviously, he’s not relatable in the spy way, because I don’t relate to being used as a spy (wish I could he is so cool in the book) but everything he does I understand why and I agree with it. I just really loved this book, and it got me into reading again. The whole series is absolutely amazing. If you aren’t in the target audience you may not enjoy it as much as I did, but I think it’s perfect for people around my age (14). I got so excited reading it and I genuinely couldn’t look away. I just wanted to keep reading to see what happened next. Really fun read, and the other books in the series are amazing too.

To be honest, Stormbreaker had initially failed to get me hooked onto the series. However, I decided to continue reading past the first book and completely fell in love with the Alex Rider series. Haven't read Russian Roulette yet though, but since it's been several years since I last touched the series, I will have to reread it to refresh my memory.

Also I tried watching the movie but it was terrible. Just read the book. But if you came here through the movie, great!

THIS SERIES WAS ONE OF THE MAJOR INFLUENCES OF MY PRIMARY SCHOOL SELF, EVEN SO FAR AS TO BE CLASSIFIED AS A PHASE, ALBEIT A SHORT ONE.

i need to get the second book. In my opinion, the movie was quite accurate to the book.

I'd give it a 3.5 reading it now as an adult. Alex is pretty insufferable at times, and the in-depth specs of every vehicle is gratuitous. Other than that it's a fun read, and for a young adult novel it's pretty solid.

Do you like the Bourne (movie) series? James Bond? All those action/adventure movies that are in the theater right now? (I haven't seen A-Team and I haven't heard anything about it, for the record). Then I'll bet you'd like Stormbreaker.

Stormbreaker isn't the type of novel I'd teach; it's a surface novel. But the action sequences are described in such a way that the reader can clearly visualize what's happening to Alex.

I liked that Alex wasn't perfect. He didn't go off on his mission and not run into trouble (or slips of the tongue) the first time he met his mark. He's what I imagine Agent Cody Banks would be like.

And bonus: there's a movie. When I get home, it's definitely going on the queue.

Alex Rider was a fun, interesting book that I really enjoyed. It was cool to try and figure out different parts and mysteries.
