Our teacher introduced us to Alex Rider in, I think, Year 5, and I've been reading & collecting the books since then. I've always had a fascination with spies, most likely triggered by having borrowed a lot of my older brother's spy books as a young girl when there was nothing else to read. I was awe-inspired by how observant, calm and smart Alex was. The humour and adrenalin had me hooked from start to finish, thanks to the missions, gadgets and characters. The following books were a blast, too. I would recommend this to anyone who loves fun, Bond-like adventures.

Fairly decent YA "young James Bond" style book. I was surprised when I learned that Anthony Horowitz was the creator of one of my favourite TV series, Foyle's War. It has a lot of cliches - gadgets, mad villains with nasty sidekicks, etc - but the basic premise with a 14-year-old boy who's forced into spying by MI6 is interesting enough to carry this book through.

It's an alright book, didn't have much impact on me should probably go read it again.
